Home Tour...Living Room

When we bought this house it crossed my mind a THOUSAND times that I didn't know if I could ever make it feel like home. These pictures DO NOT show how bad it really was. It stunk, the carpet was disgusting, the walls were covered with 15 different kinds of wallpaper, every room felt like you were going to suffocate just standing in it. Now, I think I am on my way to making this house a home. There is lots to be done, mostly decorative wise, but there has also been alot accomplished. I am loving where we are and the satisfaction of where we've been....

The living room before. This is the only picture of the living room before. Although the HUGE, UGLY bookcase wall from the dining room tour was behind me. We had already torn the carpet up here because there was NO WAY I was going to allow my children's sweet feet to touch it!!:)

The after...
I HATE that recliner!! ASAP that thing is going in the basement and a new, chocolate brown, leather chair will live there!
We(I) are in the process of finding the perfect fireplace screen.
My new, very old piano...
How I know it feels like home....Kenna Mae watching cartoons. About 5 minutes before this picture I was sitting to her right, drinking my coffee from that orange coffee mug, checking my email and blogs with my feet on the coffee table. HOME~
Good morning, Sunshine...
I had to add this picture. Jason and I laugh at this situation almost every day. When we bought the house we had plans of buying a flat screen for the fireplace. Wellllll, ALOT of money on the remodel later, THIS is the new setup! LOL! The armoir from our old house doesn't fit in the living room so it has a new home in the basement. Which left me searching for something to sit the TV on. I'm just sayin...we either need to get that flat screen from Santa OR buy a small TV stand! That tiny wicker thingy is going to crush under the TV any minute!! HAHA! Don't worry, I'll get a picture when it does!:) I guess it is better than sitting inside the fireplace. Yes, that is where it sat for the first month we lived here. Now THAT is classy folks!:)

Thanks for stopping by! Next up, the kitchen. I need to get a few plates hung in there first!

I agree with Erica. I love your style. Were you so mad when your armoire didn't fit?

We are living in a rent house right now and the carpet stinks! Makes the whole house smell! I always have my oil thing burning. ha! When we move, I want NO carpet ANYWHERE!! Is that too much to ask for? Your floors look amazing!
