I have had it with this day. I am ready to just climb in my comfy bed and stay there!!
It started out with Kate waking up this morning with 103.6 degree fever. Couching, sneezing, headache, sore throat...the works. I am taking her to the doctor this after noon so there goes the going back to bed idea! Not to mention, she has a speaking part in the 4th grade play TOMORROW! Lovely!
Now, lets move on to the bee attack. The only thing that sounded remotely good to Kate for lunch was a grilled cheese sandwich. Well, being that I grocery shop on Mondays, and today I have a sick child home, there wasn't a single slice of bread to be found. So, I loaded her up when I took Case to preschool and darted over to grab a yummy g.c. When we pulled into the drive through I rolled down my window and no less than 30 bees, (OK. maybe just 3 or 5) surrounded us and were aggressively trying to get in the burb. Thus, a screaming serenade began between the two girlies. So, to protect my two sweet princess' from further bee attack, I just drove around and went in the restaurant. Did I mention that I was sporting a greasy pony tail, my p.j.'s and NO MAKEUP!! Except of course, the permanent eyeliner....I told you it was worth my pain and the $$! AND, the bakery was full of people that, of course, I knew!!
Then, let's not forget it is only 12:30 in the afternoon. When I walked through the back door loaded down with grilled cheese sandwiches, the extremely STRONG sent of laundry soap almost knocked me over. "Why in the world does that smell so strong?" I went to the laundry room only to discover that while I was rescuing my girlies from bee death, the washer had apparently gotten off kilter and knocked the LIQUID soap into the floor, splattering ALL over the laundry room, and I KID YOU NOT, there was a puddle at least 2 inches thick on the floor. Have you ever tried to clean a lot of liquid laundry soap off of things??? Floors??? Not fun.
Let's not forget the part where, while I was cleaning up the disaster in the laundry room, the tomato soup I had put on the stove has boiled over without my knowledge and basically exploded all over the kitchen. Tomato soup covering the stove top, counter, seeping into the griddle that is on my stove top, down the front of the stove and onto the floor!!
I am not kidding folks. This is a true story with only a smidgen of dramatization for a better story. You know that the soup did not literally explode. But, other than that...all true!!
So, what do you think? Stick it out and pray for patience? Or perhaps, back to bed??
