It seems like this year birthdays have been especially hard for me. Kate turned 10 in June, and now Case turned 5 on Saturday. Five just seems so old!! I am SO glad I decided not to send him to Kindergarten this year!
If I had any doubts, taking him with me yesterday to take Kate and Kooper confirmed my suspicion of him not being ready!! He was running up and down the halls, jumping off the tallest steps, acting like a complete wild man. One more year will hopefully prepare him for the big school. And maybe I will be a little more prepared to let him go. It breaks my heart!!
In honor of the big 5, here are 5 things I love most about my Caser-dude!
1. He's funny. I mean, really funny!! He makes the kids and I laugh every single day. Yesterday, when we were at the "big" school he said, "but Mommy, the law says I can go to kindergarten when I am five. I am five, so today I am staying here. Take me to Mrs. Churchills class!" Oh, the negotiation skills of a five year old. They really step it up a notch from just 4 year olds...he's brought the law in on it!!:)
2. He's a lover. He is always ready to hug or kiss me. He's a cuddler. He loves to sleep with me. I, however, am NOT a cuddler. So I push him over to his daddy's side! :)
3. He is incredibly intense. He puts his whole heart into whatever he is doing. No matter what the cost. Whether it is playing with his tractors, or playing football with his brother...he is INTO it!! However, I must say that preschool and letters and numbers are definitely exempt from this point! He could care less about that...hence, another good reason NOT to start K!!
4. He thinks his big brother is the awesomest brother on the planet! Yes, that is in the dictionary!:)
5. Case LOVES his daddy! He wants to be just like him. Maybe not the numbers part of his daddy though!! He is right in the middle of everything Jason does! Whether it is working on something with his tools, or mowing the yard. His favorite thing to do with his daddy right now is to take a ride in his jeep. Which happens to freak his mommy out, being that there is no top and he NEVER puts the car seat in!!! Case asks me every single day if Jason is in Childress or Seymour. If I say Childress, he cheers. If I say Seymour he cries. He hates for Jason to be out of town. I love how much he loves his daddy!

Grant turned 6 on Aug 8. He could have gone to K last year, but we decided he just wasnt ready (partly we weren't ready to be left childless, too). This year....he was all over it! Loves K and loves his teacher!
We need to get him and G together...they even kind of look alike, too!

Hope you had a great birthday Case!!! He is such a funny little guy that just brightens your day. When you write a story about Case, I always tell Levi and he usually thinks it is as funny as I do. He has always liked Case so much. Maybe it's b/c Case likes horses and stuff like him!! I miss seeing him!! Have a great week!!
