Flash Floods and new babies!!
Hello, all! So what! I fell off the "faithful blogger" wagon yet again. At least this time it was only a few days....OK, a week! I can't help it my life is so full of fun and drama! Yeah, right! Anywhoo, the hubs and I took a little trip to the big D on Tuesday! You gotta love Dallas! Shopping, shopping, and more shopping. Although this time I didn't get to do any of that. Jason's little sister had her third baby! A beautiful little girl, Annie Jaye! She had a dream delivery which consisted of an epidural BEFORE any contractions, a nap that quickly helped her to progress in only a couple of hours, and laughter that popped the baby out without even pushing!!!!! Can you say BLESSING? We are so happy Mrs. Annie had a safe and joyful entrance into this world!! Oh, and what a doll baby! On to other news! On our way to Dallas Jason and I had one heck of an experience!! For starters it was pouring cats and dogs ALL the way. When we got to Wichita Falls we stopped at Sears to get new windshield wipers. That is just a side note for later! Anyway, we got about 15 miles out of WF and we got caught in a traffic jam that went on for miles! IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!!! So we sat! and sat! and sat! Finally the traffic started moving again and we had to drive through LOTS of water over the highway. Moving again at last. Until we ran into our 2nd traffic jam that lasted for miles....and then our third!!! Our trip to D that should have taken us 3 hours took 8!!!! Thank you Father for creating DVD players for the vehicle! Our kids did awesome!! They only watched about 10 movies on the way up there, but no yelling or fighting coming from the back...or the front for that matter!!! Ohhh, but the story doesn't end there. Right when we got into the heaviest rain and the heaviest traffic in Dallas, ONE of our windshield wipers(yes, the new ones!) totally quit working. So, there we were, driving in downtown Dallas, with the flood gates open, with only one wiper!!! Bunch of hillbillies!! Thank you Father, again, that it was the one on my side and not Jason's!! All in all we kept in good spirits. I think we were just glad to be out of town as a family for once! It did get kinda comical about the 2nd traffic jam and eventually we were just laughing at it all! We did have a great day as a family and even finished it off with a great meal at The Macaroni Grill! Which, by the way, remind me of the good old days with the Hale's and the Steven's in Fort Worth. We used to go there all the time when we just had Kate, Kooper, and Abbey!! Good times! Have a great weekend everyone! I'll be back next week!

Congratulations on your new little niece!
Sounds like you made lots of memories on this vacation. I can't believe you guys were driving in that rain.
I also remember the good ol' days of going to Macaroni Grill (and Olive Garden and Red Lobster). Those were fun times! We miss you guys!!
Sounds like you had a fun trip to Dallas. Your comedy of errors remind me of ours on our trip to Shreveport this weekend. At some point you just have to throw your hands up and say, "Okay God, take care of this." Oh....Averi is calling me so I gotta go. I am coming to see you sometime. If I have to load the kids and come by myself I am coming. Let me know when a good time would be. It doesn't have to be a weekend...I am a free woman during the summer months. I love it!!!
Hey... I am waiting for the blogs every three or four days!!!! Just kidding... thought you may had posted a new blog since you commented on mine today...
