Mommies are always right aren't they?! If you read my post on Wednesday you know how nervous I was about Koop's arm being out of a cast so soon. The xray's looked OK, but it still looked so crooked and in my gut I felt like something wasn't ready. Instantly! I just knew! Well, he went to school on Thursday with no cast or brace and mommy wanting to pass out or vomit or something! At lunch I took him the brace that Craig had ordered for him and when I got there his aide cornered me and told me it was hurting so badly he had been complaining ALL day! When I asked Kooper if it hurt he said "No, it feels fine". The aide overheard him tell me that and quickly asked him if he was lying to me or her!! ME! He fessed up and admitted it was hurting! Little lier! He was desperate to have that thing off so that he could play "normal" again on the playground with his buds. When I told Craig later that it was hurting he immediately said that he needed to be in the cast another 4 weeks. Poor Koop. But what happened next really scared him! I had been telling him that if he re breaks it that we would start all over with everything. New cast,8 more weeks, NO BASEBALL! He said casually,"I'll be careful momma". Then, before I picked him up to get the new cast-------he fell down the stairs at school! His teachers called and asked us to pick him up. He was fine! Just really rattled him. He said he was thinking as he fell down the stairs, "please don't break, please don't break, please don't break"! When I got there to pick him up he was READY to go get the new cast! Baseball is his favorite sport and he can't bear the thought of not getting to play! So, as I am rambling on and on I'll just say....mommy's are ALWAYS right!!
The cast will be on a total of 12 weeks. That is exactly how long the Ortho surgeon said it would take! Smart man!

Koop says this cast is much better. It's smaller being that when the first hard cast was put on his arm was 3x the size it is now! Scrawny little arm!
On another note, a little bragging! I am officially 7 pounds lighter than I was three weeks ago. Slow process, but am actually enjoying myself. I'm not killing myself with a diet I will surely screw up! I am not eating desert, not many carbs, smaller portions, but if I want it--I eat it! Usually even a little bite will suffice the craving! Also, I drop the babies off at Jason's office around 1 and go to the gym. They nap until about 3:30 for him, then I pick them up. 2 1/2 hours ALONE! I am loving it! I hate missing my workout. I started out running a mile or two and HATED it! Now, I walk "briskly" for an hour and usually go about 4 miles. It is so relaxing and I feel like I am becoming a more pleasant wife and mommy. I guess you'll have to ask my husband and my kids if that's true! Diet and exercise do wonders for your attitude! Anyway, thanks WRH and Shel for all the encouragement!! You guess are the reason I am succeeding! WRH, you were right! New Balance is a great shoe! I bought myself a new pair this week. My feet couldn't handle the blisters and pain another week!

Poor Kooper. He needs to take advantage of the situation and lay the guilt thick on Jason. Although, (unless things have changed) Jason is no pushover when it comes to Kooper. :)
Love hearing about and seeing pictures of your family! You're right, there is "never a dull moment in the Horton home."
how scary to think of him falling down the stairs and breaking it again! Glad he is "safe and sound" in a new cast!
And 7 pounds... whoo hooo! That is awesome... and that is funny bc shelley's blog motivated me to work out, too... It is amazing how the exercise has made me feel so much better... keep up the good work!
I know there are mixed emotions about the new cast, but it will all be worth it in four weeks. You need to just let it heal completely and yes mommies are always right. Glad to hear about the enjoyment of your workouts! Keep it up... it gets addicting.
Mommy you look GREAT and SKINNY
I love you sooooooo much
your, oldest babie
