I know...kinda freaky, huh?

Just think how I felt as I am walking through the dining room and this little baby was laying in the chair!
I called Kenna Mae in and asked her what in the WORLD she had done to this poor baby?
Because lets be real, it looks like she has played "let torture the baby" game!
She looked at me like I was crazy for not knowing what I was looking at and said,
"Moooommmmaaaaa, she has whooping cough and THAT is her oxygen". LOL.

Those of you who know KM can only imagine the tone....duh, momma!
When KM was 2 months old she came down with whooping cough.
It was a week before she had her first set of vaccinations. We have NO IDEA where she contracted it. She was in the PICU for 10 days.
We had only been home for a couple of hours when we got a phone call from the department of health(which was HEAVILY involved with her case because WC is NOT supposed to happen anymore!)to check on us. Jason told her we were home and KM was much better.
Her reply was the moment I realized how close we were to losing her...

"O, great! That makes my day. I don't get to make many follow up calls to families of babies with WC that got to TAKE THEIR BABY HOME from the hospital!":(

Can you say Whooping Cough has made an impression on our family?
How many 5 year olds do you know that play "my baby has Whooping Cough"! LOL!
