My heart is beeping...

I have debated whether to post about this or not. I really don't want to make a big deal out of something that turns out not to be a big deal.
But, this time, I'm just not sure I can take the chance of not calling out for my prayer warriors.
When Kenna was 6 months or a year(I'm terrible!I can't remember which checkup it was!)I took her in for a checkup with Dr."Uncle Craig",Jason's brother who is a doctor, and he heard her murmur for the first time. My heart jumped out of my chest, but he explained to me that LOTS of kids have murmurs and most of the time they are innocent. So, no big deal. She will grow out of it as she gets older.
No problem.

Then, after Craig moved to Lubbock, we have to find a new family doc here in Childress. WE LOVE Dr. R. :)
I took her in when she was about 3ish and Dr. R mentioned the murmur.
No problem.
Lots of kids have them.
She will outgrow it.
Relax.

Pretty much every time she has been to the clinic the murmur was brought up. Whether we were in for checkups or sickness.
Friday I took her in to check out her "neck" that was hurting(sore throat) and Dr. R heard the murmur, again.
Still.
This time she reacted much differently.
She was almost startled by the sound of it.
She repeated the word loud and very loud several times.
Apparently, she should be growing out of it and rather than getting fainter and harder to hear, it is getting stronger and louder.
Then she told me she was referring us to a pediatric cardiologist.
(she has been sticking her blankey, Betty, down her shirt at night so she doesn't lose her in the bed!:) SO FUNNY when I found her like this!)
To be honest, my mommy brain wasn't functioning very well at the time. I was sick with strep, bronchitis, and a sinus infection and I was a  little "clouded".:)
It wasn't until I got home and talked to Jason's mom about it that I began to really worry.
She reminded me about how much I have been worrying about Miss Mae Mae.
In fact, all of our family and friends we have told have all said, "you've been saying something just isn't right about her!"

Since about Thanksgiving, she sleeps ALL the time. As in, my child that is up at 6, no nap, puts up a fight every bedtime, was still asleep at 8 when the kids went to school. Most mornings, I find her asleep somewhere by around 9 or 9:30.
I haven't been able to put my finger on it though. She just looks sick all the time. I cannot tell you how many times I have taken her temperature over the last couple of months. She hasn't ran fever at all. She's missed alot of school because she is just "too tired to get dressed."
Her eyes have been bloodshot and glassy. She has a strange color to her face. She has circles under her eyes 24/7.
I've been blaming it on a growth spurt.

The other day, she was coming up the stairs from the basement and I was coming up behind her. She stopped about half way up the stairs and laid down. As in, laid her entire body across the stair, put her head down and closed her eyes. I kinda laughed at her and said, "well, Kenna Mae, what are you doing, silly?" and she said, "I'm just TOO tired to go all the way up."
That was about the time everything started clicking to me.
She lays down in the middle of the floor almost every time the kids are playing.
She says very casually, "my heart is beeping fast", alot.
She complains about her legs hurting almost every day.
All of these things are possible signs of heart issues.
Symptoms?
Maybe.
Growth Spurt?
I hope.
But, something isn't right.

Please, blog friends, say a prayer for my baby girl.
I'm sure she is fine.
I'm sure it IS an innocent murmur.
But, like I said before, I can't take my chances this time by not asking for your prayers simply because I don't want to look like an idiot when they send us home from the Cardiologist laughing at us because she is perfectly healthy 5 year old girl.
This time, I sure hope I look like an idiot.
