Over the weekend we traveled to Fort Worth to be with our college friends. The 3 boys were best friends in the accounting department. They studied(played playstation half the night)together almost every night into the wee hours of the morning! Jason and I made fast friends with Will and his wife, Shelley, and not long after, Jon married Amy. SO, here we are almost 10 years later! The three amigos have survived college, grad school, the CPA exam, a big city accounting firm, and are now spread out over a couple hundred miles. And here is what happened in their spare time.....
HURRY UP SUMMER!!
Busy season is going by much smoother for me this year. I guess our family is adjusting to the life of a CPA during tax season. It helps that his schedule doesn't call for him to spend the night at his Seymour firm this year! Praise the Lord! That was the worst part! He is working from home alot so that helps!. He brings everything home in the evening and works camped out in the living room until early morning! I am so much more comfortable just knowing he is in my HOME!!
This year, we are planning a trip to Vegas for an "after tax season" celebration! We had planned on the OKC Memorial Marathon, but Jason's knee is still bothering him and he just doesn't think he will be ready! Darn, Vegas instead of a run!! That's just terrible!;)
Those of you Vegas veterans let me know the secrets!! I need to get planning!
Have a productive week!!

It is so much fun to be with friends who have kids the same age as yours. You know you aren't alone in this adventure.
Ya'll are a prolific bunch! LOL Like we have any room to talk. Looks like ya'll had loads of fun! You're right spring break does fly by way too fast.
looks like you had too much fun. I just had to laugh at those pics of Kenna Mae. It is so her(miss princess)
The pics are so cute!! It looks like so much fun with ya'll all having kids within the same age range. And Miss Kenna Mae- PRICELESS!! :)
We had a wonderful time visiting with your family! Hopefully we can work out a weekend to get together this summer.
love those pics!!
glad tax season is easier on y'all!
vegas...how much fun!!! :)
Looks like everyone had a great time! We were at the zoo last Wednesday!
Aww...you were so close to me when you went to the zoo...although I don't know that we would've gotten a chance to catch up with all those little rascals. :)
So Vegas. It is fun. The first time I went I gambled like crazy...make yourself a budget per day and stick to it! Trust me. It goes so much faster when they give you those little plastic chips.
The second time I went, I did a little gambling and a lot of sight seeing. I recommend trying to do a little of both.
You have to take at least part of the day and go to the hotels on The Strip. You can skip Mandalay Bay and Excalibur. Nothing too exciting in either. I would say Luxor too but everyone wants to see it because its on TV all the time. Its the pyramid one. Be sure to take your camera when you go to the hotels. They are amazing. Bellagio, Venetian, and Caesar's Palace are really awesome inside. New York, New York and MGM are ok.
Also, if you choose to catch a show, go to Cirque de Soleil. Amazing!! The fountain show at the Bellagio is pretty cool too. Its like at 10pm and midnight every night I think. And its free! :) Also, Freemont Street is worth seeing at least once, but don't pass up doing something else to go there. At least I wouldn't. Like I said, worth seeing to say you've seen it, but otherwise...ehh, its ok. Also free though and sometimes they have stuff going on.
As for where to stay...don't stay at Monte Carlo, its boring. If you don't want to leave the hotel there's nothing to do there and the restaurants are just ok :( I stayed at Mandalay Bay a couple of times and it is nice but for the money you spend, I wouldn't stay there again. Something reasonable but nice, I recommend New York, New York, MGM, or Tropicana. If you want to spend a little more, Bellagio or Venetian.
Food is not cheap. I wouldn't eat at the hotels everyday unless you have a big budget. I think we averaged about $20 per person if we ate at the hotels. It is usually pretty good, not always, but it adds up fast.
Unless of course you catch a buffet. Those are cheaper. Excalibur has a descent one. (Avoid the shrimp cocktail.) There are some fast food places within walking distance and a little store if you wanted to buy some snacks and bring them back to your room, which I recommend.
Last, gambling...I wouldn't gamble at Mandalay or Luxor. I never had any luck there. The others down The Strip are ok. The best pay out is in the old part of town, but they are just kind of gross...
So, ok...I know way too much about Vegas. I swear I've only been 3 times, 4 times? I can't remember. Less than 5.
I just read this again and I'm embarassed that I know so much...LOL
Seeing that rock wall makes me jealous! I have never done that before but it has always interested me. I probably couldn't lug my butt up two stones, but it would be cool to try!
I'm with ya, sista... I can't wait for summer!! I love the feel of the sun, the smell of sprinklers, the ound of crickets, and the glow of lightening bugs! Ah, I just got nostalgic typing that! I can't wait!
Fun times!! I am sure people were staring at all the kids and wondering how many belonged to whom.....
How fun is that? Have fun in Vegas!
