100 Things...

In true blogger tradition, I am compelled by guilt to post "100 things about me...no matter how boring it may be" because I have come to my 100th post. 100 amazing post from yours truly. I have been working on this list for at least a week, jotting things down here and there. So, here's the list I know you have been longing to see...



100 THINGS ABOUT ME...



1. My full name is Amy Michelle Horton

2. I was born on July 28th 1976

3. In Springfield, MO

4. I was brought to Texas by my parents when I was in Kindergarten.

5. I am PROUD to be a Texan!

6. I had the chicken pox when I was 4 and have the scars to prove it!

7. One of my most vivid childhood memories is falling rear first into a potty at a gas station in Mansfield, Mo.

8. I was somewhat traumatized by the "potty" incident and therefore refused to use a public restroom for many years after.

9. I can still "hold" it for many hours so that I DON'T have to use a public restroom.

10. Therefore, my husband often refers to me on road trips as "bionic bladder".

11. Isn't that a sweet pet name?

12. I HATED school when I was young.

13. HATED!! school. I never grew out of it. The thought of returning to finish my degree sends a chill up my spine.

14. I DO plan on finishing my degree.

15. In what? I HAVE no idea. I am about 1 semester away from my student teaching.

16. I quit college after the birth of my second born.

17. The stress of two babies at home and the load of school was to much for me.

18. After all, I was only 22 at this point.

19. I married my high school sweetheart when we were 19 years old.

20. NO, we were not pregnant!!

21. Jason is the love of my life.

22. We have been married for 11 years.

23. We dated for 2 years before we got married.

24. The thought of my daughter coming to me when she is 18 and telling me she is marrying her boyfriend makes me want to cry.

25. I can also here the words..."but mom, you and dad got married at 19" echo in my head.

26. My favorite color is red.

27. I love fall.

28. The smell of pumpkin bread and coffee warms my heart.

29. I got carried away with the pumpkin and gourd thing this fall.

30. I carved a pumpkin with my kids for the first time this year.

31. Maybe the last time.

32. I am addicted to coffee.

33. It is not out of the ordinary for me to drink 3 or 4 cups every morning.

34. I heart cinnamon hazelnut creamer.

35. Although I usually use Fat Free French Vanilla.

36. I have struggled with my weight for a little over 5 years.

37. I KNOW I can lose it.

38. I lost 48 pounds after Case was born.

39. I have since had another child.

40. She helped me put all but about 15 pounds of that back on.

41. I start Weight Wa*chers every Monday morning.

42.I have a red Senseo coffee pot that I LOVE! It is so pretty!

43. I look at my walls every day and think about what color I am going to paint them next.

44. I want to paint my dinning room Orange. Like a burnt orange.

45. I am not brave enough to paint my dining room orange.

46. I hate laundry.

47. I loathe laundry.

48. Do not come over today and open the door to my utility room.

49. Laundry will attack you....it is alive.

50. I like the rest of my house to be fairly neat and tidy.

51. Have I mentioned I have four children that prevent that from happening about 90% of the time?

52. About those four children....

53. I am privileged to be the mother of four beautiful children.

54. My oldest daughter, Kate, is nine.

55. Although I keep getting in trouble by her because I keep telling people she is 8.

56. Somehow, it is hard for me to say I have a nine year old.

57. Kooper is my next sweetie.

58. After being raised in a family with five girls,

59. Koop taught me that I can, in fact, raise a son.

60. And I am pretty darn good at it.

61. He also taught me the true meaning of a "momma's boy".

62. Between Koop and our next born, we struggled with infertility.

62. Four years,

63. And 2 miscarriages, later....

64. Jason "Case" blessed this world with his presence.

65. My heart swells just to say those words.

66. Case, is the family clown.

67. I adore that kid.(as do most that meet him)

68. Two years ago, my "finale" was in my arms.

69. She is my baby girl. Kenna Mae.

70. I am having so much fun with her.

71. She puts makeup on me every morning while I am blogging.

72. Today, she painted me with blue eyeshadow.

73. Go 80's!!

74. I think I might be going crazy!

75. Others, tell me it's true.

76. Kate and Kooper are 18 months apart.

77. Kooper and Case are four years apart.

78. Case and Kenna are 16 months apart.

79. Sometimes, I feel like I have 2 sets of twins.

80. I wouldn't have it any other way.

81. If I could take a dream vacation, I would go with my husband to NYC in late November or early December.

82. He has no desire to go to NYC.

83. I am secretly afraid to fly, so it may never happen!

84. How long does it take to drive to NYC from C-town?

85. I am obsessed with purses.

86. I am obsessed with shoes.

87. I love purses more than shoes.

88. Today, my toenails are painted red.

89. I would rather them have a french manicure.

90. I have instilled my love of shoes and purses into Kate.

91. She loves shoes more that purses.

92. She is the best shopping partner ever!

93. Except she drives me crazy saying "look momma" about every 30 seconds.

94. I am hoping to take the kids to Disney World this summer.

95. I have never been to Disney World.

96. I think it may be a trip for me, not them!!

97. We will most likely be driving. #83!

98. Being a mother and wife is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

99. It is my destiny!

100. I wouldn't trade my life for anything, not even a new suburban, or a dream trip to Disney, or NYC, or.........

So there you have it. So what, not all 100 are entirely about myself, close enough. I think #101 should be, after reading all 100 back...I have excessive use of comma's!!

Amy, the "100 things" were great! I'm reading it thinking, "I don't think I can come up with 100!" I look forward to seeing you in December! Sounds like you're doing AWESOME with the walking!

Those were fun to read! I didn't realize there was FOUR years between Kooper and Case. I remember that time for you. God had a plan, didn't he?? See you all soon!!

I have excessive use of periods......its easier than trying to remember correct grammar.

I think that was my favorite "100 things" list I have ever read... it was not officially all about you, but it was perfect bc those sweeties are a part of you... you are so good at writing! I love reading your blog when I feel like I am going crazy... it reminds me that I am not alone in my insanity! :o)
