This is my attempt at throwing a whole bunch of memories into one post.
The truth is, one of my major weaknesses is that when I get overwhelmed with something like laundry,
closet organization, projects piling up in the garage, or blogging, I TOTALLY shut down.
It happens every single time!
I guess the first step is acknowledgement so maybe I can move on to step 2 of the program now!:)
Therefore, this post is going to be the longest post in the history of post around Hortonville.
Please hold onto your seats and possibly put on your seat belts.
Actually, I'll be surprised if you don't take a quick exit to another (much more fun) blog that doesn't start
every post with "catching up"!
I'll still love you if that's the case!
P.S. I have the worst cold ever today. Ever.
P.S.S. I started this post 3 days ago and feel a little better today.
Somewhere in the middle of All Star baseball Jason and I snuck away without the kids and headed to an AMAZING ranch that my great friend, Charla's, aunt and uncle own, Rice Ranch.
Let me just tell you...it was amazing! We had a great time hanging out here...
swimming in the salt water pool until we were all crispy. haha!

Only a few short days later my hubs surprised me with this...
I'm pretty sure this summer has been the absolute craziest summer we have ever had.
I find myself complaining about how busy we have been and I force myself to reflect back to last summer when we were remodeling the house, living with our parents/RV in the driveway, staying up till all hours of the night working on tile, paint, and neck deep in dirt!
This summer has been PACKED FULL of fantastic memories!
One more trip in August to Red River and we're ready for school to start!
SHHHHHHHHH...do not remind me that my babies will all be in school.

The purpose of our trip was to see this...

which was the most awesome thing I have ever seen. I am slightly obsessed with Broadway now and am making plans to see every Broadway production I can squeeze into the next 40 years or so...:)
Char and I in a picture that shows off our crispy-ness rather than the stage we were hoping to capture!
The sweet love birds...Richard and Charla
and we headed out for the longest road trip EVER...
Michigan 2010
The Horton color was purple at the reunion. Kate was SIKED.
Jason not so much.
:)
We stayed at a fabulous resort and we managed to sneak in an afternoon of swimming at the water playground right across from our condo...
We did some catching up with cousins we haven't seen in years...
met cousins we've never seen...
bossed cousins we see ALOT...
LOL!
did some strolling on the SO CUTE streets within the resort...
Experienced Lake Michigan for the first time...
(which seriously was so beautiful it almost made me cry! The most beautiful turquoise water I have ever seen....my favorite color!)
we rode a ferry for the first time...
docked at THE coolest island...
Mackinac Island is so awesome! No motorized vehicles are allowed on the island. Everything is done on foot, bicycle, or horse drawn carriage.
I want to go back there someday and spend more time.
Kenna Mae doing a little dance routine in the streets...
The kids did alot of this....
Got a few souvenirs...
This is the same kitty the day we got home from Michigan. We found her under the table scalped and chewed...
KM was not a happy camper, but seriously, it was kinda funny!
It looks scary!lol!
We saw gorgeous sights...
ate alot of ice cream...KM cracks me up in this pic! :)
The flowers were incredible! Even the most beautiful, lush gardens in Texas don't compare to the vivid, brilliant flowers in MI.
KM posing in a garden with chocolate ice cream still on her face.
Love that girl...
The boys took in a haunted theatre and almost pee pee'd in their pants...
Michigan 2010 was fantastic!
Our one and only purpose of this trip was MawMaw.
This was her 80th birthday.
Doesn't she look beautiful?
A few days after we got home from Michigan, Jason and I loaded up (again) without the kids (again!!) and headed south this time! Jason had a conference, along with his dad, at the J.W. Marriott Hill Country Resort in San Antonio.
What an awesome place!
The one and only picture we have of us from the trip.
Gotta love self portraits!
While Jason and his dad were conferencing all day, Pam and I shopped, ate, drank, and hung out at the pool all day! It was so fun!
We floated around the lazy river so many times I finally had to get out because I was getting a little motion sick! hahaha! In the evenings we would have dinner with the guys and just sit outside and relax.
It was a great time!
A few days later, we loaded up and headed here. WITH THE KIDS this time! We went with a huge group of (mostly) Kooper's friends and their parents.
and took in a baseball game....

Right now I am perfectly happy living in complete denial.
