Katie girl...

For some reason, Kate is my child that seems to not make the ol' blog most often.
She hates softball with a passion so she doesn't turn up in pictures much this time of year.
I think I get caught up in Kenna Mae (my baby) growing up so fast that I seem to overlook the fact that my other kids are growing WAY to fast, too!

While Kooper is out on the field pitching and I have my camera stuck through the fence zooming in as far as it will go, Kate is usually taking someones child to the bathroom, or giving a tired momma a break by holding their baby on her hip, or running to the concession stand for a Gatorade for her brother.
She is rarely the center of attention because she NEVER, ever, ever demands to be.
Unlike her little sister. :)

Kate's strengths are under the surface. Although she plans on playing sports in junior high, she doesn't love them. She's not the fastest girl in her class, or the slowest for that matter. She is an attack and conquer girl and if she can't conquer then she loses interest. Hence the reason for passionate hatred of softball! :)
She is a take control of the situation and fix it kind of girl.
But, she's got a sweet, sensitive nature while she does it.

Even though Kate doesn't live in the limelight, she is VERY talented and maybe should someday! lol!
She is SUPER dramatic and everyone she comes in contact with says she should be an actress someday.
She loves oral reading and voice lessons.
Dancing and jumping on the trampoline in the rain.
She will play house with her little sister ALL DAY LONG if Kenna Mae wants her to.

I adore that girl.
I cannot wait to see what a fabulous Christian, wife, actress, doctor, chef,  mother she will be someday.
Momma and her girls...

Proof that I did not have my own camera and wasn't very good at using my MIL's.

This year, the 5th grade class put on a talent show they called Fifth Grade Follies. They raised money for our local museum. It was SO.MUCH.FUN!
Kate's class has a ton of talented kids.
Here is Kate and two of her friends doing a skit called, Coldwater.
It was HILARIOUS.
Kate was the waitress and made me so proud!
After the show I have had several people come up to me and say, "well, she's either going to make a great actress someday or a super waitress!" lol!

Kate is on the left with the fun apron on!

Terrible picture. The finale was the entire 5th grade singing We Are The World.
Awesome.
The other day I told Kate that I couldn't wait for her to get her drivers license and she laughed at me and said, "Momma, you are so confused! One minute you are practically crying that I'm going to Jr. High and the next you are excited about me being your errand girl!"
LOL!
Did I mention she is going to Jr. High?
Seriously.

Holy Toledo, you are looking hot Amy! Are you still on that diet?

Anyway, I just skimmed this post because I'm in the middle of something, but it made me sad. I REALLY am not looking forward to my oldest going into Jr. High. I still have awhile, but it makes me sad. Jr High can be torture. BUT it's a necessary transition that I must go through to get my "errand-boy."

Kate is a wonderful girl, and a direct reflection of that wonderful Momma of hers! Personally, I'm SO glad she's going to be in jr. high because someday (hopefully sooner rather than later), she will be the PERFECT babysitter! YAY! :)

6th grade is Jr High? Oh my! Alyssa is going into 7th grade which will be her first year of Jr High and I am freaking out. Although the schools out here are wonderful, its the exposure to kissing and you know what that freaks me out the most.
I am so glad you wrote about Kate this week. She is so beautiful. She sounds so much like Lissy. Alyssa hates baseball too. She is a frilly girl who now is loving cheer and gymnastics. Anyhow, I always knew you would be a GREAT mom!

Love ya,
Cynthia
