Pre-Christmas recap...

I decided to leave the title of this blog so I could remind myself how ridiculous it is that I have put this post off so long. This post has been started and sitting in my drafts for weeks! The original title was obviously before Christmas and now it is obviously after the New Year. Why do I let myself get so behind?

I think it might have something to do with that little part of my brain that gets so overwhelmed with something that I automatically start another project JUST so I can put off the one I really need to be doing.

Like last week when I was determined to get the Christmas decorations down so I started cleaning out my closet, and when I got everything in a HUGE pile on my bedroom floor I started decoupaging a project I've been wanting to work on. It's a vicious cycle and obviously one of the few flaws I might have. :)

So, here we go...

I'm pretty sure we all could start this post off with the same statement...WE ARE SO BUSY! But, today, I vowed to get caught up and I AM!

How cute are these little Christmas Elves? I'm tellin ya, these girls are besties! Caaarazy about each other.

Kenna Mae + Ava Grace = BFF :)

Luuuuuv me some Kenna Mae!

These are a few of the teacher gifts I made this year. Christmas coasters. They turned out pretty cute and were a big hit. Easy peasy, unless you have 18 sets to make! Yep, that makes 72 coasters. I think. I've never claimed to be good at math! ;) I also made a set to give Jason for his office with the kids pictures on them, but have decided that I like them so much I'm keeping them at the house. Sorry babe, I got you a Nook, remember? :)

A super cute Rudolf that REFUSED to stick his "tail" in on the Reindeer hokey poky!

Christmas morning was SO much fun! Krista and Ava decided to stay and let Santa come to MeMe and Uncle Jason's house! YAY!

Krista and Ava waiting on the stairs to see what Santa brought!

The whole gang waiting to be set free to see...check out Ava's wild morning hair-do! Love those crazy curls!

First glance...

Kenna Mae checking out some loot...Santa left a her a DS, a game, a baby and carrier, and a TON of stocking fun! Santa loooooves stockings around here! :)
Aunt Krista gave Kenna this baby and she is SUPER cute!
Miss Kate is growing up and the fact that she asked for 4, as in F.O.U. R. pairs of shoes this year is proof! One of her four...
Santa left a cowboy hat for Case. My horse riding stunt man.
I Pods, docking stations, and I Tunes cards for the big kids...
Ava's horse Santa brought (and maybe a few other things back there in the background!;)
A new bike from Momma and Daddy. Jason really is having a good time. I think. :) And yes, Case has had a clothing change. BIG SURPRISE!
Santa also left a new ping pong table for all the kids! I guess he didn't realize how much room it would take up in the basement. Maybe next time Santa should call Momma and Daddy and ask for measurements first! (yep, that is how messy the basement is ALL THE TIME. and there's a whole other side over to the left with a couch and chairs and a HUGE TV that is just as messy!)The new lamps (there are TWO, YAY!) my sweet momma got us...
We also had another four legged Christmas guest. Miss Payton stayed with us while her Momma and Daddy ran all over Texas for Christmas! She was a very sweet, easy guest to have! She is welcome back anytime!
Of course, this is only about a quarter of our Christmas fun. We had a big Christmas Eve party here at our house, Christmas at my Mom's and Christmas out at the ranch. Somehow, I managed to not get a single picture of all THAT fun! I give myself a headache sometimes! :)
It usually takes me at least until New Years to get over my post-Christmas blues. Like every Momma out there, I spend SO much time and energy trying to make Christmas fun, and memorable, and special, that I get SO sad when it's over.

I will say, this Christmas was all of the above! I'm officially over my blues and moving on to the excitement of spring. Now, if we could ever get past these record breaking low temps around here! I'm tired of negative wind chill every morning!
Whew, so glad to get all that off my chest! :) Happy Monday!
