Just a tad little brag...

I try really hard not to brag on myself on this blog very often. My biggest reason that I try to steer clear of the bragging thing is the fact that it seems as soon as I brag about something, I fail miserably soon after.

So, it is with lungs full of a very deep breath and fingers that are crossed behind my back, that I am SO about to brag on myself!!

First, I must point out that I know there are some practically professional runners that read my blog. Friends that have ran many a marathon and half-marathons! You might laugh when you read this and I want you to know that it is ok! I will forgive you. I laughed at myself, too! So, here goes....

I went out running for the first time tonight. I ran TWO full miles. I will not tell you my time because THAT is certainly NOT what I am bragging about tonight. I RAN AN ENTIRE MILE WITHOUT STOPPING A SINGLE TIME!! YAY, ME! I also, continued to run another mile with VERY minimal, short walks spread very far out. I cannot tell you what a HUGE deal this is for me! I am smiling tonight.

My sweet, awesome sister, Krista ran with me. She is a superstar and I am so lucky to have her! She keeps me motivated to stay in the gym. Now, we're gonna soon be hot momma sisters together! She is SO already HOT!! It is very painfully obvious that she is MUCH younger than I am!!:) I love ya, sis!

Jason ran with us, at what is to him a snails pace, just so he could prove to me that I COULD do it! I love you, Jason! You are an awesome husband. Thanks for saying "I told you so!" This is the only time you have permission for that!! I love his Garmin, too!. I want one!

Thanks for listening. And you might need to pray for my ability to walk in the morning!

Yippee! Way to go, girl! I'm going to have to start running. Josh wants me to run with him in beach to bay. Yikes! I'm so not up for it but will do it for him. I for sure can't run a mile with out stopping. I'll have to start of really slow! You keep going, you're awesome!

WOW Amy! I started working out about 2 weeks ago. But I'm still not at the point where I can run a full mile. I run, walk, run, walk! AND I'm so terribly out of shape! It's really sad.

I am right there with ya sista. I recently started running again and the day that I ran (by run I mean I wasn't walking)for 20 min. straight, I was so pumped. Keep it up!!

Way to go girl!! I'm very proud of you!! I am just now getting to where I feel like I can run for a mile. Love seeing you and Krista @ the gym & to catch up!! :)

OKay, SOOOOOO impressed, girl! I'm one of those that would be literally jumping for joy at running an entire mile without stopping, too, so I hear ya and feel ya! Maybe I will try running outside sometime before it gets super hot! Probably a good idea if I'm going to run a 5K in just over a month! Ha!

And, I'm curious...how does Jason use his Garmin when he runs? I have one, so if it is something I can utilize, I'm interested!

Oh you should brag that is huge. I did 5 minutes in the treadmill and you would have thought I had done 50 miles. I am so proud of you. Great Job!

Holy Toledo, Amy... you totally turned that frown upside down. Blog lurkers and anons who peek out every now and then really make my day. It seems, you really don't need more commenters but hey, I HAD to return the favor!

So, two things... Freakin' awesome job on the running! I have been a lazy runner for years, but no run is every harder than the first! It really blows how very painful it is to get back into shape. (Uhm, by the way, your sister may look younger but there is no way she is cuter... you're gorgeous!) It's crazy that you gave a shout out to the Garmin, I was just telling my husband how extremely happy he "might" make me if I got one of those :-)

Two, I love the Weightloss ticker! I need to get one! I was thinking it would be neat if they did that. I have seen all the pregnancy and countdown ones... but not weightloss!

Ok, more than two things... so you lived in Hamilton!? Do you ever come back? I would love to meet you! Anybody that escapes the cover of anonymity just to make a stranger feel good is worth meeting!

Anyhoo, take care Amy... Can't wait for your next post!
