Hello, friends!!

Well, it's been a while, hasn't it? I have NO good excuse for what I've been doing. Just life. I know you guys understand that right?!

The last couple of weeks it has become more and more evident how Satan interferes with LIFE. They started out awesome. I was focused. Maybe for the first time in my life. I was reading my bible every morning with "quiet" time. All of you with children understand that quiet time is when you retreat to your bedroom, close the door, and yell "BE QUIET" every 3-5 minutes!LOL! I also have been doing great on my diet. I have lost about 10 pounds in the last 2 1/2 weeks. And I have been going to the gym very faithfully. SO...the last 2 or 3 days have gone down hill. My quiet time was derailed by exhaustion and sleeping in. I haven't lost a single ounce this week, despite lots of water, a strict diet, and working my tail off at the gym! What is that?! And to top it all off, I was cleaning up the kids playroom yesterday and sat up on my knees to put some books on the shelf. I guess I shifted my weight onto my right knee and CRACK, CRACK, CRACK...about 10 times. IT hurt so bad. At first I couldn't put any pressure at all on it, but after a couple of hours I could walk on it. It is hurt pretty bad though. There goes my workout schedule for a while. STUPID, STUPID Satan....I hate him!!

Sorry this post was so negative....I guess I was having a moment of weakness.

On the other hand...my children have been so pleasant this week. Case had a great week at school and is learning sooo much in preschool this year. It's like something clicked and he is FINALLY interested in learning! His kitty is still here, although he has had at least 4 names. Right now, he is referred to as "Blue". Oh, and despite all my attempt to convince Case the kitty is a girl, she remains a he!!

Kenna snuck into the bathroom when I was in the shower last night. I said, "who's in here?" And the sweetest little voice said,"it's Princess...". She would prefer we change her name.

Koop has had a great week, too. His face bit the dust at football practice last night and he woke up with a bruised, scraped up nose. It could have been alot worse...he was spitting dirt the rest of practice. He also got his first interception....although when he caught the ball, he froze because he didn't know what to do with it. It was so funny!

Kate is a joy as always. This morning I was rushing to get ready because I actually had to get up and DRESSED this morning before I took the kids to school. I told Kate before I got in the shower, "just grab whatever you can find for breakfast and eat really quick." When I got out of the shower, she had set the table, and all 4 of the kids had sat down for cereal and juice. She is such a blessing!! She is in constant "helper"mode. Makes Momma proud!!

I'm hoping to post some pictures next week. I have some of the cutest pictures of Kenna on homecoming. She has her hair in pigtails, in her cheerleader suit, and her mum on. What a doll!!

Until next time.....

I've wondered where you've been. I love your definition of quiet time... that is sooo how it is...especially since I can't seem to get up before my kids!

I'll be praying for your workout and weight loss... I totally understand the frustration! Goodluck!

It was so nice to see your smiling face this morning at CES in the midst of my chaos! Wish we would have had time to chat a bit more. I TOTALLY relate to the "quiet time" and not having enough of it and I don't even have one child much less FOUR! I started off really well on my bible study and its not that I don't want to finish or don't enjoy it (I WILL finish and I really DO enjoy it), but life, or maybe my lack thereof and dEFINITELY SATAN rear their ugly heads and I go 3,4,5 days without having done one lesson! Argh! Anyway, we should get together sometime and share our "I HATE SATAN" stories. Oh, and I'm already praying for kids as cute, sweet and helpful as yours...love those Horton kids stories!
